PLUMBING SPECIALS AND TIPS FOR WELLINGTON RESIDENTS

How to HAVE GREAT shower pressure

12/8/2015

A dribbling shower is no way to start your day and wake you up. Rather than feeling invigorated and ready to face the day, its likely you are feeling less than average.

What’s the water pressure like in your shower? Do you know that shower water pressure is often ranked highly important when people view a property to move in to? Crap water pressure is infuriating, inefficient and a right pain!

There are many reasons for low water pressure. All of the fixes for this require the work of a registered plumber. You could try changing the shower head yourself but chances are this will have a minimal effect.

Many houses around at the moment have low pressure water tanks. This wouldn’t be so bad, but when the cold water is mains pressure, it is almost impossible to get a decent temperature with decent pressure.

Usually replacing the water cylinder for a mains pressure tank will solve that issue. Alternatively you could have Infinity installed. This is a system, by which the name suggests, never runs out of hot water. Never again will you run the bath and run out of hot water half way filling it. It will also solve the issue of bad pressure.

It’s possible you may also have a leak somewhere along the pipes which is affecting the pressure. This would need to be determined by a plumber.  Another possibility is there is a blockage in the pipes.  It is hard to determine the issue yourself, it’s best to call in the professionals to help. Even if you can self-diagnose the issue, it’s unlikely a DIY job will solve the problem.

Give us a call today at Maxey Plumbing. We can diagnose and solve the issue, and a high pressured hot shower could be waking you up in the mornings from now on.
